Phillip J. Smith

Phil is currently the client services manager of Next Level Financial Group with 19 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Prior to joining Next Level, Phil was Partner, Investment Strategist and Senior Portfolio Manager of Decision Capital Management's Strategy Fund, a multi-hedged equity fund in San Diego, CA.

Phil has also served as Vice President and Portfolio Manager at the Pacific Bank, N.A. in San Francisco where he actively managed over $1 billion in equity and fixed income portfolios for high net worth individuals, foundations and endowments. When the Pacific Bank was acquired by City National Bank of Beverly Hills Phil accepted the position of Portfolio Manager in the wealth management and trust division.

Phil began his career as an assistant analyst in the municipal bond department at Birr, Wilson & Co. before moving to Merrill Lynch & Co. where he first met Jon. He is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara with dual bachelor's degrees in business economics and political science.

In addition to his passion for stocks, bonds and football, Phil enjoys cooking and writing. In the off-season he may be found backpacking, fishing, kayaking and rock hounding throughout the Pacific Northwest. Phil resides on Bainbridge Island, Washington.
